Brompton
Description: Eazy Wheel set (bikes-with-rack) Version R
Features:
Brompton Eazy Wheels (why not easy wheels?) are larger in diameter than the standard rollers, have rubber tyres and are fitted with sealed ball journal bearings and allow the bicycle to be rolled along easily when fully or partly folded.
The bike can be rolled using the raised handlebar as a handle (there is no need to clamp it), or by pushing on the raised saddle.
Note: With the saddle raised, the part folded bike will come undone if lifted off the ground.
Included with the kit is a rubber bung assembly that fits into the bottom of the seat tube. This acts as a brake when the seat is fully pushed down, so that the rubber bung touches the ground.
Note: This rubber bung is only suitable for steel seatposts.
It is particularly important to use this feature when the fully folded bike is stowed on public transport such as a train, to prevent the bike rolling around. Remember to lift the seat enough to disengage the brake before rolling the bike.
Please take care to avoid subjecting the rack / rollers to any impact (the standard conical rollers fitted to the rear frame are designed to collapse on impact to prevent damage to the rear frame - but eazy wheels will not collapse).
To prevent the Eazy wheels causing damage to the shock cords on the rear rack (by rubbing on them), it is recommended that the shock cords always be crossed over each other when not in use.
